Leading UK holiday company Corona Holidays has put together a list of the best festivals on the Balearic islands during the month of January;

Los Reyes Magos - Menorca
Held on the 5 January each year, the Three Kings arrive by boat in Mahon to deliver Christmas presents to children the following day [Dia de Reyes]. Similar events take place across the island of Menorca.

Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos - Mallorca
The Three Kings arrive by boat in Palma de Mallorca to distribute gifts to the city’s children.

Revelta and Beneides de Sant Antoni Abat - Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza
Eve of St Antony’s Day and Blessing of St Antony. Held 16-17 January every year, expect a fiesta with bonfires and parades as well as the blessing of animals. When the bonfires are lit, people wander between them in costumes, dancing and eating eel and vegetable pies. Head to Muro and Sa Pobla, or Palma on the island of Mallorca. If you are in Menorca, then San Lluis is the place to be and in Ibiza head for San Antonio. If you are in the region of Arta, then the place to be is the Santuari de Sant Salvador for dancing, music and an odd display of backwards-facing equestrians swinging long sticks

Fests d’es Tres Tocs - Menorca
Held on the 17 January each year in Ciutadella, this is the Procession of the Three Knocks which marks the victory of Alfonso III over the Muslims in 1287 and commemorates the “Reconquista” of Menorca. There’s a mass in the cathedral first and then three horsemen lead the way to the old city walls where the eldest of the horsemen knocks three times with his flagstaff on the exact spot where the Catalans first breached the walls.

Festa de Sant Sebastia - Mallorca
Held on the 19-20 January each year in Pollensa, this is a procession carrying a banner with the image of the saint and with 2 dancers [called cavallets] wearing a cardboard horse.

Revelta de Sant Sebastia - Mallorca
Head to Palma de Mallorca on the 19 January where concerts are held in the city squares, a huge bonfire is lit and a fireworks display takes place over the bay.

Festa de Santa Agnes de Corona - Ibiza
Held on the 21 January each year with traditional dancing, music and fireworks

Also during the month of January, the following dates are public holidays:
1 January - Ano Nuevo [New Year's Day]
